Mavic Yksion GripLink

The grip link tyre is marketed as a grippy tyre ideal for a front wheel. More than once I've found myself unsure about how well this is executed.

A specific incident came to mind while cornering on an off camber corner on a wet road. I was taking things easy due to the conditions yet found my front wheel sliding out. It was only due to a miracle that I managed to catch it and stay upright. My rear wheel had a Maxxis Relix on it and caused no problems.

The marketing sounds cool, but I'd give it a miss. The only solace was that I bought the grip/power link tyres on sale.  Less
