400 Series OCLV: Over two decades ago, Trek engineers developed our Optimum Compaction, Low Void carbon manufacturing process, enabling us to produce carbon bikes with consistency and quality previously thought impossible. It was an industry breakthrough… and to this day, Trek OCLV carbon frames are the best, most consistent you can buy. Each level of OCLV offers the best ride for the money, thanks to an optimal balance of areal weight, stiffness, and compliance. The areal weight range and modulus mix of 400 Series OCLV puts ultra high performance within reach, providing an exhilarating sense of acceleration and confident handling.
BB90: BB90 is the widest bottom bracket available on a road bike. This Trek-exclusive carbon BB makes the frame lighter, stiffer, and quicker to accelerate. BB90 eliminates the need for extra inserts and parts in the bottom bracket/frame junction. Fewer parts mean a lighter frame. And a lighter frame means a faster ride.
Direct-mount front derailleur: Provides accurate shifting in a lightweight, minimal package.
DuoTrap compatible: DuoTrap seamlessly integrates the computer sensor into the frame to measure speed, distance, and cadence with no added aerodynamic drag. It works with all the major ANT+ wireless technology players, including Bontrager, Garmin, PowerTap, and SRM.
E2 head tube and fork: Our E2 head tube tapers from a 1.5" lower bearing to a 1-1/8" upper bearing, and is wider side to side than front to back. This asymmetric steering system minimizes weight while maximizing power transfer and keeping the fork stiffer under cornering loads. Result: a more powerful and confident ride.
3S integrated chain keeper: Our 3S chain keeper is integrated directly into the bike frame. It's an elegant solution that provides flawless shifting even on rough roads and under heavy loads. No more standing on the side of the road, covered in grease, unwedging your dropped chain as competitors race by.
Power Transfer Construction: Our Power Transfer Construction puts more power to the road by optimizing the E2 > down tube > BB90 > rear wheel connection. It's made possible by two features found only on Trek race performance frames: our asymmetric, wider-at-the-bottom E2 head tube, and our BB90 bottom bracket, the widest available on a road bike. Trek Power Transfer Construction connects the two with a wide, ultra-stiff down tube that transfers more power, for more speed out of every pedal turn.
IsoSpeed Decoupler: At the core of Domane’s comfort technology is the IsoSpeed decoupler, the result of an 18-month study of how a racing bike performs over rough roads, and how that performance affects the rider. Trek engineers designed a decoupler that allows the seat tube to rotate independently from the top-tube-to-seatstay junction, increasing vertical compliance to twice that of our nearest competitor, without compromising pedaling efficiency. Result: you can ride harder, longer.
IsoSpeed fork: It's a one-two punch: generous ride-tuned sweep and shape increases compliance for greater comfort, and unique dropout placement optimizes the wheelbase. An extra curve above the dropout in our swept-leg design creates a smaller angle to the direction of road vibrations. This angle increases fore/aft compliance, better positioning the fork leg to absorb road force rather than transmitting it straight to the rider. We’ve also increased fork lateral stiffness, maximizing both comfort and control.
Endurance fit/geometry: As befits Domane, the world’s most comfortable performance racing bike, we’ve developed the world’s most comfortable racing geometry. Still racy, but with a slightly higher head tube. It took over two years of engineering and testing to perfect Domane's high-performance, ultra-stable endurance geometry. We considered every imaginable factor of frame construction to arrive at the perfect balance of speed, stability, and comfort. Then we asked Fabian Cancellara to give Domane his all on Flemish cobbles. His verdict: Perfetto. Much of Domane's rock-solid stability comes from a race-tested 20% increase in fork offset over Madone, which keeps the rider settled on the bike and positions the wheel optimally for high-speed and rough-road stabilization. Result? Two-time Paris-Roubaix champion Fabian Cancellara calls Domane "the most stable bike I've ever used on cobbled roads."
Vanishing fender mounts: Discreet mounts accommodate full-coverage fenders for added utility.
