Advanced light action shifting with the RAPIDFIRE PLUS shifter requires the same amount of force to shift between the two largest sprockets as it takes to shift in between the two smallest. The vivid index establishes intuitive shifting feedback without adding unnecessary shifting force to the system. Shimano’s Instant, Multi- and 2-Way Release technology are all integrated into the latest generation shifter as well as a mode converter that allows the left hand unit to be used with both double and triple cranksets.
2-Way Release for different riding styles or shifting (indexfinger or thumb) from various riding positions. The upper lever still performs the same function, but now it swings both ways. Pull it with your finger or push it with your thumb - you choose. Two position bracket with the choice of inboard and outboard position. The Optical Gear Display floats above the handlebar, allowing you to set the suspension control lever clamp easily. The Optical Gear Display is removable, a lid cover comes together with this shifter. Instant Release allows for quicker shifts, as it instantly releases the cable when the trigger is activated.
