Features | - We've created and patented the DCR system to route mechanical shift cables in the most efficient way. The goal is to ensure that you get the best performance. The DCR system provides a sealed inner wire for the complete length of each cable. Without contamination and the higher drag inherent in traditional housing, DCR reduces friction in the system by up to 25%. You'll have a lighter and more precise feel at the levers. We make sure that the cables integrate cleanly with the design of the frame rather than looking like an afterthought. DCR is a system where function, simplicity, and tidiness are paramount. - The Direct Post Mount offers simpler and cleaner brake integration. This means better performance, less maintenance, and lower weight. The Orbea Direct Post Mount design allows the direct attachment of your rear brake caliper to the mount on the bike frame. Without the addition of an adapter, you’ll benefit from a lighter, stronger system that provides better braking performance and less maintenance. And with no potential for unwanted movement in the system, this virtually eliminates brake chatter and squealing produced by harmonics that can develop in the stacked pieces of typical adapter systems and that can radiate throughout the bike frame. - Press Fit offers simple installation, low maintenance, and minimizes potential for creaky bottom brackets. We use Press Fit bottom brackets for a variety of reasons. Installation is simplified, as the BB unit is pressed directly into the frame until the shoulders of the cups rest against the outer edge of the shell. The nylon sleeves reduce the need for extremely tight machine tolerances, and they reduce the potential for creaking should the bottom bracket area become contaminated with mud and grit. The wider shell is also beneficial because we can increase the diameter or width of the intersecting tubes to increase torsional stiffness at the bottom bracket area. - The ideal suspension would be free from friction. Our Sealed Ball Bearings keep your bike operating as smoothly and efficiently as possible. Our bikes have as many as ten Sealed Ball Bearings. The benefit is terrific sensitivity to bump input from the trail. After all, bike suspensions are designed to move in order to absorb energy to keep your wheel on the ground for traction and control and to give you more comfort. This is why we use sealed cartridge bearings rather than bushings. We even add bearings to the rear shock mount, and this is part of our secret to performance. It makes a difference - it keeps the bike stiff and sensitive, and it reduces friction even though it’s an ultra-compact system and doesn’t add unnecessary weight. |
