We outfit the Occam 29 M40 with a smooth-shifting Shimano SLX 10-speed drivetrain, plus the addition of an XT Shadow Plus rear derailleur to keep your chain in check. It’s a perfect combo that offers plenty of performance while keeping the costs down. We match Fox CTD Trail adjust dampers at both ends of the bike to smooth out the bumps in the trail and offer convenient adjustability for any terrain. The foundation for this trail-ready package is our Performance level carbon fiber Occam frameset. It has a just-right blend of strength, stiffness, and light weight — a perfect match to the durability and function of the Shimano drivetrain.
