Merida Ride 88-24 (2012)
Road racing represents real fascination: Perfect asphalt winding through heavenly landscapes.
Air swirling around tirelessly pedalling legs. The combined sounds of chain buzz and smooth running tyres. Cycling moments that could last forever. But not all road-racing athletes are predestined for long saddle hours under the influence of the bike pros' characteristic posture with low-positioned handlebar and a stretched-out seating position: Depending on individual preconditions, some grand tours might end with back pain and the annoying feeling of having done something wrong.
The superb solution for this problem: MERIDA ROAD RIDE! These bikes follow the principal concept of a really comfortable road machine offering maximum cycling fun. In comparison to our racing-orientated models, the RIDE series therefore includes some perceptible differences – each representing a completely convenient addition!
The main difference is frame geometry: The RIDE front end is comparatively higher due to its longer head tube. Besides a more upright seating position, this also means easier accessibility with respect to the brake/shifting levers – providing for full braking power and convenient shifting from the upper bar! Longer chain stays and extended trail result in a generally longer wheel base: While still being extremely agile, the RIDE models provides the rider with increased stability in comparison to our RACE series. Equally important: The well thought out combination of slim seat stays, small seat post diameter and 25c tyres provides the essential comfort for long-range tours or rough route sections.
Just add another hour – thanks to MERIDA ROAD RIDE!
