Merida Big.Seven 500 (2017)

The 2017 Merida Big.Seven 500 is a mid-range cross-country hardtail mountain bike. Kit is excellent at this price point: the Shimano Deore/SLX mix drivetrain is geared all the way down to a 2:3, ready to climb cliffs and pull stumps; M315 hydraulic disc brakes provide feather-light control and loads of stopping power for precipitious descents; light, grippy alloy platform pedals provide solid footing and easy dabs; and the Maxxis Ikon tires, here in a broad 2.2", are ready to take on anything, with a combination tread that hooks up on everything from grass to mud, hardpack to loose rock.
