FeaturesBorn from the same molds as our SL and Team, sharing many of the same design features, constructed with our lightweight-but-durable Dyad Plus lay-up. The Xenith's Tri-Oval SST differential tubing diameters (larger diameters on larger frames, smaller diameters on smaller frames) support big riders without punishing smaller ones. Designing the fork to incorporate a 1.5" crown race allowed us to produce a fullhollow fork, from steerer tube through crown and down to the dropouts: it's not just lighter, it's stronger! Our SST seatstays run full length from dropout to seat tube increasing lateral stiffness while offering greater vertical compliance than standard larger diameter monostays. Xenith's "muscle" shaped chainstays are asymmetrical, with the driveside 10% larger than the non-driveside, yielding 30% more volume & stiffness to offset drivetrain torque. Our front derailleur clamp spreads shifting forces around the tube instead of localizing them at one point as would the more standard rivet-on front derailleur perch. The top of the Xenith seat tube is slotted twice on each side to spread clamp torque around the tube, and seat posts are securely clamped with a lightweight 1-bolt 7075 seat clamp The larger 46mm bore diameter of the Press Fit 30 BB system increases ply compaction yielding a lighter frame with increased frame strength. The key difference with Press Fit 30 is how the bearings are fitted into the frame. Bearings are housed in nylon cups that are pressed into the frame's bottom bracket shell. Like BB30, Press Fit 30 uses the same bearing that is designed for a 30mm spindle cranksets. Advantages of Press Fit 30: Improved bearing-to-shell interface, greater bearing durability and simple installation. Mavic CXP-22 rims mated with Formula smooth spinning hubs and DT Champion stainless spokes, meticulously built, make a great all-around wheelset. Shimano's FC-565 compact 50/34 crank with Press Fit 30 and Wheels MFG adaptors take full advantage of the oversized BB shell, larger BB30 bearings while keeping a full Shimano group for better shifting. The compact chainring concept is revolutionary: a 34T inner chainring offers a 15% lower gear ratio than traditional 39T double ringed road cranks, but the 50T outer loses only 6% off the top end compared to the 53T traditional outer. You get the hill climbing capability of a triple, yet less weight than a standard double Shimano's new 105 drivetrain assures light, precise shifting over all 20 speeds. Vittoria's Zaffiro slick 23c tires offer legendary, road-holding capability and superior ride quality. Selle San Marco's new SPID Arrowhead saddle looks racy while at the same time is designed for comfortably thanks to the ergonomic shape and pressure relief cut-out in the shell.
