FeaturesTrail X1's frame is made of lightweight-but-strong 6061 series aluminum featuring over-sized, ovalized & tapered tubing for increased frame strength and a 34.9mm seat tube to assure a stiffer pedaling platform. The Trail X1 is offered in 8 sizes, assuring the best possible customer fit for optimal handling and enhanced comfort. Our smallest 12" frame size is especially suitable for junior riders. This frame size can comfortably & safely fit taller kids as young as 9 or 10. With the Trail X's larger diameter 26" wheels and 300mm seat post with quick-release clamp, this bike will last them for years. The RST Gila-T suspension fork delivers 80mm of coil-sprung suspension travel with an MCU elastomer bumper that smoothes fork bottom-out. With a lightweight alloy crown and lowers and stout 28.6mm steel stanchions for stiffness, strength and a straight-tracking front wheel, this fork will deliver ride after ride. Aheadset's patented threadless steering system not only saves weight, but pre-loading the headset bearings for optimal steering precision is much easier than on standard threaded headsets. The 26 x 1.95" Jamis TX tires on all our Trail X-series bikes are from the same manufacturer that produces Maxxis tires: one of the most respected names in off-road rubber in the business. The X1's 21-speed Shimano EZ-Fire Plus drivetrain features a Shimano TX55 rear derailleur, alloy 42/34/24 crankset & Shimano SIS 14-34T freewheel for smooth shifting, easy climbing & secure descents. When you're laboring up a climb, having that low 34T gear to bail-out to is a ride-saver! Sealed cartridge bottom brackets reduce maintenance time and expense. Not so long ago, V-brakes were the most powerful bike brakes known to man. Then disc brakes came along. No biggie. V-brakes will still lock up your wheels & stop you safely. And they don't weigh as much as discs! Every Trail X1 offers quick release front & rear wheels and a quick release saddle assembly to make transport, storage, or locking up a snap. The Trail X-series ATB saddle with front & rear protective guards offers plenty of comfort, durability & style. There's lots of lightweight, rust-proof alloy parts on the X1 -- micro-adjust seat post, threadless stem, crank, seat post clamp, rims and brakes -- that make riding more pleasurable & maintenance easier.
