Features | The XCR29 Sport's Kinesium triple-butted mp4 multi-link suspension design
is optimized to shed weight and offer superb pedaling efficiency yet remain
fully active with a near-vertical wheel axle travel path. It includes 10mm shock
hardware, 12x142 rear thru axle for easy wheel installation and tapered head
tube for increased lateral & torsional stiffness and performance.
Asymmetrical chainstays incorporate a straight stay on the non-drive side and
a curved stay on the drive side to achieve greater tire clearance and a stiffer,
lighter rear triangle. Chain stay size has been increased 25% compared to
2012.
The XCR29 Sport's fully-active 100mm rear travel is controlled by a Rock Shox
Monarch R with hydraulic damping, external rebound and aluminum shaft and
body for lighter weight.
Rock Shox's XC32 TK 29 Solo Air offers 100mm of travel, 32mm stanchions,
aluminum crown, lockout and external rebound controls - all usable and
functional "on-the-fly" adjustments that can be felt by the rider. The Solo Air
feature allows air to fill both the positive and negative chambers using a single
valve, simplifying suspension setup while retaining a plush ride.
Geax is regarded as one of the best tire manufacturers in the world, offering
tires with higher thread counts and leading-edge compounds. Their Saguaro's
are renowned for offering a light, responsive ride.
Shimano's splined Octalink BB and crank interface offers much greater strength
& rigidity than standard square taper designs, thanks to the increase in contact
area between BB spindle & crank arm.
Tektro Draco 2 hydraulic brakes feature ergonomic 2-finger length levers with
reach adjust for better fit and feel.
Ritchey's cockpit parts are manufactured by a 3D-forging process yielding
optimal grain structure and eliminating all internal imperfections, allowing
Ritchey to use less material without sacrificing strength or durability.
Jamis lock-on grips feature a dual compound including gel in the palm area for
comfort and dual lock rings for no-slip security.
The new WTB Volt saddle utilizes a "whale tail" pad shape which helps increase
power output by properly angling to the sit bones while climbing. A flex tuned
shell and a Comfort Zone cut out below the nose increase comfort while riding
on the front of the saddle. |
