Features | The Allegro X frame is made from lightweight 6061 double-butted tubing with
top & down tubes hydro-formed for extra strength, eliminating the need for
welded-on gussets. The seat mast has been increased to 34.9mm (with a
31.6mm seat post) for a firmer/stiffer/stronger pedaling platform.
New for 2013 we redesigned the X's frame geometry which will allow for
increased ride performance and stability. This was achieved by lowering the
stand over and lengthening the wheelbase providing a lower center of gravity.
Add a 1 1/8-1.5" tapered head tube with a larger 1.5" lower bearing and your
result will be increased stiffness, strength and stability.
All Allegro X frames offer a full complement of brazed-on, threaded accessory
mounts to simplify installation of carriers, fenders and water bottle cages.
SR/Suntour's NVX-MLO suspension fork offers hydraulic damping for a
smoother ride and lock-out to prevent front-end bobbing during climbing.
A full Shimano drivetrain ensures the quickest, most reliable shifts every time,
all the time. The 24-speed RapidFire shifting drivetrain with Shimano M311
48/38/28 crankset, Altus rear & M191 front derailleurs and 11-32t cassette
offers a much larger gear range, with much lower gearing, for easier hill climbing
than standard or compact double chainring road and street bikes.
Tektro's IO mechanical disc brakes deliver powerful & reliable braking
performance for safe & secure stops in all conditions.
The Alex rim/Formula hub wheel set is light, but tough, for on or off-road
durability, with excellent load carrying capability & handling.
Ritchey's Speedmax Cross tire offers a larger footprint and a more aggressive
tire providing both a fast low rolling resistance center patch as well as side
knobs for consistent traction at all cornering angles.
Our Jamis Trekking saddle is broader and more deeply padded than other road
saddles, but is still narrow & firm enough to promote higher cadence pedaling.
The Jamis butted alloy riser bar offers a sweep that is neutral and natural for
both road and trail riding.
Our dual-compound kraton grips offer an anatomical shape for increased
comfort and control. |
