There are three certainties in life: Death, taxes and that GT will make triple triangle bikes. They've been doing it almost as long as I've been alive on this planet and I don't hear many people complaining (about the bikes, not about me). And why would they? When a triple triangle looks as fine as it does here on the Corsa Disc let us all take a moment to thank the God of cycling that a company sticks by a good idea...
Clean and healthy lines is what I first think when gazing adoringly at this bike. The brushed metallic finish with orange accents (how cool are those alloy hubs?) looks the absolute bomb! It's great that such good looks aren't just skin deep; that beautiful finish hides a frame constructed from Columbus chromoly and a full carbon fork. This bike will ride smoothly and be perfect for a rough road.
As is becoming more common these days the Corsa features a tapered head tube and press fit BB. The triple triangle may speak to the past but the overall design is rooted firmly in the present. Components are quality without busting the budget. As the name suggests, this is the first GT Corsa to be equipped with disc brakes which really amps up the bikes versatility.
The Corsa is obviously a road bike, but think along the lines of all day riding and training, hard core commuting and gravel grinding rather than race or cyclocross. This is a perfect long distance bike especially where the road is of an unknown quality.
I find little to dislike about such a nice looking and functional piece of kit like the GT Corsa disc. If you are after a heavy duty road bike to use on less than ideal roads, or just something a bit more solid than your typical road bike, this may well be your cup of tea.
The GT Bicycles Corsa Disc blends classic GT road bike flair with modern features. The chromoly frame is rugged and surprisingly lightweight, and the carbon fork keeps the front end focused. Shimano components make up the drivetrain, and parts from Formula, Continental, and FSA round the bike out. Hayes mechanical disc brakes finish off this road-munching machine. This is a great training bike or even a hardcore speed commuter.
