Ambitious young athletes deserve the best and the Xenon models fit the bill (and their young bodies) perfectly. The double-butted Thermo-Tech 2000 aluminum frame is rugged and stiff; they'll feel none of their youthful energy wasted as they gradually develop their power and speed, an incentive to keep progressing. The XE54 carbon fork is light, with the correct geometry for bikes of this size, combining a safe, confidence-inspiring ride with the agility for riding in the bunch. Even in these small beginner's bikes, our Optimal Balance philosophy has guided every aspect of design and construction. The result is a superbly-balanced blend of light weight, comfort and stiffness. The frame reflects our HDS principle, which determines the size and shape of the frame tubes according to the role each plays in the bike's performance. With HDS, the frame's upper areas feature tubes that are shaped to improve comfort; in the lower areas, the tubes are designed to emphasize rigidity for complete power transfer. With components scaled to fit small hands and young bodies, the Xenons' excellent ergonomics are further enhanced by the newly-available STI shift/brake levers, so their hands need never leave the handlebar.
