Features | Tapered Head Tube: The Tapered Head Tube is the foundation that provides stiffness and stability for precise handling in all conditions. The forces acting on a head tube can be extreme, especially at high speeds or over rough surfaces. Our Tapered Head Tube provides improved rigidity and steering precision. All of our bikes that use the tapered system get a 1-1/8 to 1-1/2” bearing system. We’ve found that this dimension offers the best balance of weight, function, and durability. The Tapered Head Tube is also a principle element of our frame designs, whether in carbon or hydroformed aluminium, that provides greater stiffness and stability by allowing larger tube junctures at the front of the bike where stresses are high. Lifetime Warranty: Orbea provides a lifetime warranty on every frame. We have total confidence in our products. Our constant efforts to ensure that Orbea bicycles are of the highest quality enable us to offer you the Orbea Lifetime Warranty. It guards against defects in materials and workmanship. Your warranty is activated using the unique registration number you'll find on the down tube. Once the process is complete, your bike will automatically receive its lifetime warranty. We'll have a record of your bike information should it get stolen, and you'll be able to take part in our drawings and events. You'll also have access to the latest news about Orbea, its sponsored teams and riders, and new product development. Orbea Aluminium: We carefully select the tubing for each of our alloy frames, and each tube is integrated into a frame with an intended purpose in mind. We manipulate our aluminium tubing in ways to increase strength and resistance to unwanted flex. We purposefully select tube diameters and wall thickness for each project, and we use hydroforming to create unique shapes. Many of our tubes are butted to reduce the wall thickness, in the middle of the tubes, away from the stress of the joints and the weld zones. This saves unnecessary weight. All of this is required to offer aluminium bikes that exceed your expectations. 4x4: The 4x4 design allows us to improve upon the stiffness and strength inherent in a typical front or rear triangle in order to maximize comfort as well as efficiency. We’ve modified the front and rear triangles by adding a short fourth member, essentially creating a quadrangle. Forces applied to our 4x4 design are mitigated by deflection at the joints. This small amount of flexure is part of the design, and it is what makes our hardtails so comfortable. All this comes with no decrease in torsional stiffness and resistance to your power input. Reach the finish line faster and fresher with 4x4. |
