Merida Matts 6.10-V (2015)
The 2015 Merida Matts 6.10-V is a beginner's mountain bike. Inexpensive and accessible for newer riders, and kitted out with versatile componentry, capable of tackling anything from long winding paths to steep uphills.
Beginning with a lightweight, sturdy aluminum frame, Merida builds up a model of off-road-worthy riding: a suspension fork, providing a smooth ride and taking the brunt of bumps; a Shimano drivetrain, widely geared for trails of any pitch, intuitively controlled with the EZ fire shifters; sure-stopping, reliable V-brakes, levers always at hand, in case that perilous slope is a little too perilous; and finally, light, smooth-rolling alloy wheels, clad in go-anywhere tires, the tread multi-purpose, at home on pavement as dirt, sand, mud or grass.
New riders will appreciate the low standover height, easy operation, reliable parts, and relaxed seating. The Matts comes in a very wide range of sizes, fitting practically any rider, available in black or white.
A good starter mountain bike.
