Diamondback Recoil Pro 29 (2013)
The Diamondback Recoil Pro 29 is made to handle even the toughest XC courses.
Manufacturer's Description
What is a Recoil? The dictionary defines recoil as “to spring or come back; react.” The Diamondback Recoil takes that definition to heart. Whether it is flying down the wide open trail or making its way through twisty tight single track, the Recoil Comp will react to what is under its tires and then spring back and be ready to take on what comes next. What’s next?: 29 inch wheels. The larger diameter wheel is taking over, and with good reason.
The Recoil Pro 29 is the perfect beginner bike for those just getting into aggressive riding or those who are looking for an entry level full suspension rig. It was built with a solid platform in mind and is fully upgradeable should you so choose to step up your component package to the next level.
The foundation for this is firmly laid with an all-new 6061 T-6 Aluminum Trail frame sporting 4" of travel via the RockShox Monarch R air rear shock (more on this later). The frame uses a machine formed top tube and a butted and formed down tube sharing tubing from our nicer Sortie series. It uses a sealed cartridge bearing pivot and is built around an optimized single pivot design which is the simplest type of rear suspension because there are few moving parts. It consists of a pivot just above the bottom bracket, slightly up on the down tube and a single swingarm to the rear axle. Being that the rear triangle directly attaches to the rear shock, the shock has a more linear spring rate and offers good small bump compliance.
Larger wheels are not the only improvement made to the 2013 Diamondback Recoil Pro 29. We’ve added a RockShox Monarch R air rear shock to compliment the Rock Shox Recon Silver 29 fork. This fork features rebound dampening adjust and a turnkey lock out. The lockout allows the rider to limit the travel to enhance your climbing experience.
The Shimano SL-M430 Rapidfire 9-speed shifters control an Alivio front and an Deore rear derailleur. Combined with and the HG30 9-spd Cassette (11-32t) combined with the Shimano FCM-521 9-spd Octalink crankset ( 22/32/44t) give you 24 mountain crushing gears to choose from. The Hayes HMX-5 mechanical disc brakes with 6" rotors will provide all of the breaking power that you’ll need and the Weinmann SL-7 M-Series Doublewall wheelset will provide a tough and stable platform for your bike to roll over whatever dares get in your path.
Diamondbacks signature alloy AL6061 Ahead stem and SL318b oversized Mid Rise handlebar create the perfect cockpit while the SL309p Alloy Micro Adjust 30.9mm post and WTB VOLT Comp saddle ensure that you can pedal all day long.
